Use Wheelie to learn the tools, a main scenario for progression, and Custom Scenarios for editor work. The official store lists three scenarios and a level editor; a dedicated unrestricted sandbox is not confirmed by the reviewed material.
Choose by your goal
| Your goal | Starting point | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Learn construction controls. | Wheelie tutorial. | Follow the guided introduction before a larger city. |
| Play through objectives and unlocks. | A main scenario. | Read that scenario’s goals rather than copying another map’s target. |
| Build or revisit a custom scene. | Custom Scenarios / scenario editor. | Save the scene so you can return to editing it. |
| Reuse one structure. | The blueprint tool. | A structure selection and a whole scenario are different saves. |
| Build freely with every restriction removed. | Check the current game’s available modes. | Do not assume the level editor is identical to a dedicated sandbox. |
For the first route, start with our first-lot walkthrough. If your goal is a reusable garage, go straight to the blueprint procedure.
The three officially listed scenarios
The urban setting. The recorded opening uses Baldtown City, which makes it the easiest of these settings to compare with the linked beginner videos.
The officially listed setting with boat-cars. Orbital Potato visits the boat-car setting near the end of the recording.
The third scenario listed on the store. We have not reviewed a dedicated walkthrough of its opening, so there is no invented difficulty ranking here.
The store describes leveling up within scenarios to unlock cars, construction options, Drive Thrus and production chains. Paris is described as a plan, not one of these three current scenarios.

Start and revisit an editor project
The community blueprint guide uses this route: New Game → Custom Scenarios → Create Custom Scenario → Launch Scenario Editor, naming the scene before opening it. To return to a saved scene, select it under Custom Scenarios and choose Open in Scenario Editor.
Decide what you need to preserve before you close the session:
- Continue editing this scene later: save the scenario.
- Reuse a particular structure: save a selection with the blueprint tool as well.
- Place that custom blueprint in normal play: follow the separate community file-copy procedure.
Keeping both saves prevents two common mix-ups: having the full scene but no reusable selection, or having a reusable selection without the scene you wanted to keep working on.
Sandbox and Workshop: what is established?
The October 10–11 sandbox threads we reviewed contain player requests for a free-build mode, not a developer confirmation of a dedicated mode or a release date. The level editor is listed officially, but that alone does not specify unlimited money, all unlocks or every simulation restriction being removed.
The store describes Workshop integration as a possibility the team hopes to pursue if there is demand. That is different from an available subscription-and-download workflow.
Sharing a scene is a separate file workflow
A player’s scenario-sharing thread identifies saves/scenarios inside the installation folder. That is a community file-sharing report; we have not imported the shared files.
If you are evaluating someone else’s scene, first identify what they are sharing: a full scenario or a .cpbp blueprint. Keep the creator’s version information and preserve your own saves. A file meant for one workflow should not be treated as evidence that the other workflow supports it.
For now, this guide supplies the distinction and the source, rather than an untested scenario-installation procedure.
Mode questions
Which scenario is easiest?
The available sources do not establish a measured difficulty ranking. We recommend the tutorial for learning, then Baldtown if you want to compare your opening with the two linked videos.
Does the editor mean there is an unlimited-money sandbox?
No such equivalence is established here. An editor is confirmed, while the reviewed sandbox threads are requests. Check the available options in your current version.
Can I use a video’s objectives as my own checklist?
Check your scenario’s displayed goals first. A target seen in one recorded scenario is not automatically a requirement for the other maps.
Sources & verification
Evidence: official information, attributed community methods and reviewed gameplay captions. The October 8 videos use a pre-release review build; captions and current menus may differ. We have not personally tested the game. Diagnostic examples are our reasoning tools, not measured game results.
